About Thunderbird Heights

The gated community of Thunderbird Heights in Rancho Mirage has spectacular mountain and valley views from its hillside perch. Even though these homes are desired for their privacy, the neighborhood is close to the Thunderbird Country Club and many services in the city.

Thunderbird Heights, established in the 1950’s features an array of classic homes and remodeled originals as well as new construction. These homes are situated on large lots and have many amenities including additional master bedroom suites, open floor plans for entertaining, a guest house with full kitchen, fireplaces, recessed lighting, and large viewing windows. Some homes have beautiful backyard pools with cascading waterfalls and large barbecue fire pits. Schools for this area include Rancho Mirage Elementary, Nellie N. Coffman Middle School, and Palm Valley School.

This community is very close to the resort City of Rancho Mirage and what’s even more convenient is the tunnel that goes under Highway 111 taking residents to the Thunderbird Country Club. The club offers an 18-hole golf course that was designed by Johnny Dawson and Lawrence Hughes. The clubhouse has 48,000 of space for activities and a 6,600 square foot fitness center. And El Paseo Drive offers a mile stretch of eclectic boutiques and has been compared to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The Palm Springs International Airport is within 15 minutes and Coachella Valley offers many trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
